Using Partial Dentures to Restore Decayed Teeth

Posted .

Occasionally a patient who has suffered from rampant tooth decay come in with multiple teeth decayed beyond recovery. This can result in the loss of several important teeth in the area, requiring a restorative treatment to restore their smile to full function.

If you are in a situation like this, Dr. Wendy Quiroz may recommend extracting the dying teeth and replacing them with a partial denture to restore your smile. Unlike full dentures, these are designed to replace only a few teeth instead of all of them.

If you still have unhealthy teeth in the affected area, our dentist may recommend extracting them. They will also check the surrounding teeth to make sure they are healthy. If they’re not, she may suggest extracting them as well and adding them to the partial.

After the area has been prepared, our dentist will take a detailed casting of it and the surrounding teeth, including the opposing teeth. This casting will then be sent to a dental lab where your partial denture will be made to replace your lost teeth perfectly.

If you have lost multiple teeth in one part of your mouth, you should call Wendy Quiroz, DDS in Clovis, California, at 559-299-9211 to see if you’re a good candidate for a partial denture.
